Project Peak is a two-phase, one credit course, offered in your first semester at Mason. The first phase consists of a five-day wilderness adventure trip held the week before your first semester begins. You and your trip mates will kayak down the beautiful Potomac River, Rock Climb the sheer walls at Carderock, hike, camp in tents and cook on camp stoves.
The second phase is a follow-up to the trip. You and your trip mates will meet as a University 100 class once every week for the duration of the first semester. Here you will build on the foundations that were laid during your pre-semester adventure and cover topics that will continue to focus on your success in college.
No experience is necessary to participate in Project Peak, only your quest for adventure, willingness to learn, and desire to have fun.
